What are the responsibilities and job description for the Vocational Adjustment Services Worker - Danville State Hospital position at Commonwealth of Pennsylvania?
As a Vocational Adjustment Services Worker, you will design, implement, and evaluate vocational adjustment programs for residents that promote recovery. You will collaborate with a team that delivers comprehensive rehabilitative treatment and monitor results. You will recommend appropriate shop areas based on client interests, maintain shop schedules, and document participation progress. This role requires effective communication and the ability to implement vocational approaches that will assist each resident in reaching established goals. In addition, you will prepare referrals for other therapeutic services, maintain clinical records, and participate in facility training.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Your schedule may change based on operational needs.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Four years of experience in the field of Vocational Adjustment Services for those with mental or physical illness or handicaps; or
- Graduation from a four year college or university with major course work in Vocational Rehabilitation, Vocational Education or Counseling, or a related Human Services field; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
- Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
