This is a 40-hour salaried, non-exempt position with paid holidays, annual leave, family leave and health benefits form the Commonwealth of Virginia.

About the Work
The work is straightforward, make guests feel special.
Here is how Food & Beverage Supervisor accomplish this as a team:
● Set-up area(s) to specifications, bringing life to event’s vision; linens, lighting, décor, accessories, etcetera.
● Anticipate and accommodate guest needs, respond to requests in a professional and polite manner.
● Serve fantastic fare to guests, replenishing food stations, drinks, and ensure that guests’ needs are met.
● Support other event-related activities.
● Breakdown of event area, returning to pre-event status.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
● Supervise all front-of-house operations for various events throughout the museum; assist managers with administrative tasks, if needed
● Ability to solve problems independently and communicate effectively.
● Ability to work and be cross trained in different areas of the food service department, if needed
● Ensure established food service protocols and procedures are upheld, including health and safety guidelines.
● Knowledge of ABC guidelines and full-service bar standards
● Knowledge of the various aspects of provide excellent meal service to guests, knowledgeable of food items and service standards.
● Ability to read, comprehend and follow basic floor plans, menus, and instructions; assist in preparing event space for service.
● Ability to remain calm, professional, and gracious in a fast paced, high-pressure environment; resolve guest issues should they arise.
● Ability to maintain a professional demeanor and appearance during events with guests and employees, excellent interpersonal skills.
● Ability to be prompt and punctual to scheduled shifts.
● Ability to work a flexible schedule to include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
● Ability to use fine and gross motor skills; finger and hand dexterity; reach with hands and arms; climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk and hear; and taste and smell.
● Ability to stand or walk for up to 10 hours.
● Ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds.
Additional Considerations
· Certification, GED, high school diploma, or other food service education and/or experience
· Previous special events/banquet/food service experience.
· Previous supervisory experience is preferred.
· Experience with Micros or OpenTable is preferred.
· ServSafe Food Handler or Manager certification is preferred.
