Job Duties

• Ability to utilize and interpret relevant resources, including, but not limited to: LSC, TJC, CMS, EPA, OSHA, DEQ, NFPA standards and regulations.
• Ability to carry out inspections of workplace and take necessary action to ensure compliance.
• Ability to respond to and investigate concerns/complaints from patients, visitors, and staff and take appropriate action.
• Ability to investigate accidents and injuries that occur in the workplace.
• Ability to chair safety and environment of care committees, lead performance improvement projects, conduct drills, design and deliver emergency management and safety program training.
• Ability to use statistical data to identify trends, write reports, and make recommendations for policy and procedures.
• Ability to operate security vehicles and equipment, follow verbal and written communications, communicate effectively with diverse groups, gather information, and write factual, detailed reports of events and issues.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Degree in emergency management, business, healthcare administration, or public administration or commensurate work experience.   
  • Experience working in a health care facility.
  • Experience in TJC and CMS regulations in the areas of life safety, hazardous materials and wastes, fire prevention, emergency management, and environment of care.
  • Valid driver’s license.

PGH is a facility operated by the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS). PGH is a 123-bed psychiatric facility and the only facility that exclusively serves individuals over the age of 65.
