Job Duties:

VIB is an accredited affiliate of the National Industries for the Blind, and a manufacturer and distributor of products and services provided under the provisions of the Javits-Wagner-O’Day Act and the Ability One Program.
We are seeking a VIB Production Associate II to perform duties to sew both college and state mattresses and additional products as needed while ensuring quality and following VIB rules and regulations.
Work to meet customer orders by assembling, sewing, and completing various textile products using industrial sewing and production machines. Works with high level of proficiency to produce textile products. Works with supervisor/team leader to coordinate production with delivery schedules. Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have:
Knowledge/Experience:
• Knowledge of operate industrial sewing machines with demonstrated skill.
Skills/Abilities:
• Ability to complete sewing projects independently.
• Ability to read tape measures and apply the information during sewing or lamination of products.
• Good verbal communication skills,
• Ability to understand production schedules independently.
• Ability to exercise good hand/foot coordination.
• Able to stand for extended periods of time with repetitive lifting and bending.
• Ability to stand 7 hours a day.
• Able to lift and move up to 25 lbs. on a repetitive basis.
• Ability to follow directions and work as a team player.
• Ability to use a Pallet Jack.
Additional Considerations:
- Proficiency in sewing, textile fabrication, or manufacturing.
