Physician Job Responsibilities:
- Discuss medical history with patients to acquire knowledge of healthcare practices.
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to diagnose pain conditions.
- Create and discuss a pain management treatment plan with patients.
- Treat patients by employing interventional techniques such as injections and/or other devices.
- Respond to patient questions and health concerns.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Prescribe medications, if applicable.
- Refer patients for laboratory and diagnostic tests. Assess medical results.
- Educate patients on pain management and lifestyle changes.
- Delegate tasks and communicate frequently with APRNs and other members of care team.
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in pain management.
- Advocate for patients’ needs and well-being.
- Review and retain orderly and well-kept patient records.
- Communicate pertinent medical records to appropriate specialists as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all healthcare and pain management regulations and standards.
Requirements
Strong knowledge of pain mechanisms and pharmacology.
Proficient in interventional pain procedures, joint injections, nerve blocks, and epidural injections.
Working knowledge of medical equipment such as C-Arm.
Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary care team in a clinic setting.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Patience, compassion, and the ability to empathize with patients in pain.
