Position Summary Information
Position Purpose
To review and analyze data applying financial aid principles and practices relating to the delivery of Title IV and institutional financial aid funds. Maintain information presented on internal and external financial aid website.
Description of Duties
- Compile and submit data for purpose of certification of the Federal Direct Program. Includes reviewing student record for satisfactory progress, verification of enrollment status, housing, citizenship, academic level, selective service compliance, transfer evaluation, expected graduation date, etc.
- Research inquiries from loan agencies of students in or pending default, and prepare document to assist in resolution of these situations.
- Respond to students and parents regarding loan eligibility requirements. Advise students and parents with regard to overall financial aid eligibility and processes.
- Coordinate the entrance and exit process to show a clear audit trail of compliance with regulations required by federal law. Prepare correspondence to contact potential graduates, students who leave the institution, and students who drop to less than half-time status. Develops and maintains university internal financial aid website. This includes posting important information for staff knowledge, maintaining working links to federal/state resources and collaborating with other staff to post relevant training materials.
- Develops and maintains university external financial aid website. This involves monitoring changes in regulations/procedures, monitoring for broken links, as well as posting documents and forms for student use. In addition, a quarterly review of content will be completed including suggestions for updates/changes/improvements.
- Serves as lead representative for the Financial Aid Office for future website development/upgrades for Commonwealth University.
- Assist the Director of Financial Aid in the conduct of financial aid projects and the preparation of reports to external agencies.

Minimum Requirements Profile
Three (3) years of experience in the delivery of technical services and assistance to customers that involved the application of specific laws, rules, regulations, and procedures, and which included or was supplemented by one (1) year of direct public contact work;

An associate degree and one (1) year of experience in the delivery of technical services and assistance to customers or customers that involved the application of established laws, rules, regulations, and procedures, and which included or was supplemented by one (1) year of direct public contact work;

An equivalent combination of experience and training.
