This is skilled journey level work in several trades. An employee in this class performs various skilled and semi-skilled tasks in the repair and maintenance of machinery, buildings, and equipment. Work involves proficiency in several trades, with working conditions and the degree of lead work exercised differing by location and the nature of the assignments.
This position is considered an essential personnel position.
- Perform general interior maintenance related tasks including framing walls, hanging drywall, repairing furniture, repairing windows, installing flooring, repairing doors and door hardware, painting and installing ceramic tile while using a variety of power tools, woodshop tools and hand tools. Perform general maintenance on locks and peripherals including installing, repairing, replacing, and maintaining mechanical, pneumatic, and electronically controlled locks and devices.
- Perform general exterior maintenance related tasks including roof repairs and installations, masonry repairs, waterproofing, painting and snow removal.
- Perform basic plumbing and electrical tasks including maintaining and installing plumbing fixtures, water lines, wall outlets and lighting fixtures.
Minimum Requirements:
Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1;
OR
Four years of experience in building and plant maintenance work, which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades;
OR
Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.
Necessary Special Requirement: Possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver’s License.
