Personal Health Partners is currently seeking a Medical Director for their Telehealth department. The Medical Director will work on a PRN basis, 32 hours per month.
Pay rate: $120/hr
Purpose/Belief Statement:
Telehealth’s Medical Director will act as Chief Medical Administrative Officer providing medical administrative direction for the division. In this role, the Medical Director will serve as a liaison with the members of the Telehealth professional staff and will work in concert with Telehealth’s Administrator to carry out Telehealth policies and to review professional standards of practice of Telehealth’s employed and contracted physicians and providers. In addition, the Medical Director will act as the primary medical liaison to Personal Health Partners in the delivery of care by Telehealth to the Convergence Skilled Nursing Facilities. The Medical Director develops policies and procedures to assure quality patient care, active treatment, appropriate level of professional and technical staff and personnel and reviews Telehealth’s professional standards of practice.
Job Qualifications:
- MD or DO required
- MD or DO license in State of Ohio
- ABMS Board Certified in: Internal Medicine, Family Practice, Geriatrics or Hospice/ Palliative
- 5 years of experience working with post-acute and long-term care population
- Experience with treat in place in this setting
- Previous telehealth experience
- Demonstrated experience working with and educating NP’s
Preferred Qualifications:
- Health care management/leadership experience
- QAPI experience
- Familiarity with CMS, Medicare Advantage, SNP Rules and Regulations
- HCC and Risk Adjusted reimbursement methodology
- Inpatient/SNF utilization metrics and bed day management
- State specific collaborative practice agreements and midlevel practitioner licensing
- Knowledge of EMR
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop appropriate in-service and continuing education programs for the Telehealth professional staff and medical staff.
- Provide medical supervision for treatment modalities which are to be used for the Telehealth.
- Provide medical leadership for Telehealth programs and/or through regularly scheduled meetings.
- Review all professional practice at Telehealth and taking appropriate action where indicated.
- Active involvement in recruiting and hiring providers for Telehealth.
- Provide all other services required to ensure that Telehealth is run in an efficient, prudent manner so as to provide clients with the best possible care. This includes the scheduling of providers to meet client needs.
- Ensure appropriate and efficient billing of services by Telehealth providers. Provide Telehealth with timely information and reports related to Telehealth’s performance to the extent appropriate and in accordance with Physician’s obligation to ensure confidentiality of certain patient information.
- Ensure compliance with Telehealth’s Program Quality Assurance and Utilization Review policies and procedures.
- Inform Telehealth of all pertinent activities.
- Provide direction to Telehealth executives and staff in maintaining those standards of care established by national agencies, including The Joint Commission.
