CommuniCare Health Services is currently recruiting an Infection Prevention Data Specialist to support our Maryland facilities.
Job Summary
The Infection Prevention Data Specialist supports the Division Infection Prevention Department by developing reports, analyzing data, and auditing. The data specialist is the back-up for NHSN reporting and other state specific reporting requirements. The data specialist supports the facilities with research data specific to studies the facility is participating in.

Job Summary
The Infection Prevention Data Specialist supports the Division Infection Prevention Department by developing reports, analyzing data, and auditing. The data specialist is the back-up for NHSN reporting and other state specific reporting requirements. The data specialist supports the facilities with research data specific to studies the facility is participating in.
Qualifications
- Has a high school degree or equivalent
- Has experience with excel and other software programs
- Ability to support the Division IP clinician and facilities
- Has excellent communication skills
- Produces daily and periodic reports specific to vaccine and antibiotic stewardship programs
- Reports to State and Federal agencies required by the facility; is a back-up reporter
- Works with the facilities to establish NHSN reporting requirements, assigns the reporter to the NHSN website
- Provides education to the facility IP staff regarding SharePoint and TeamLink reports
- Provides education related to location of policies utilized for Infection Control
- Assists with preparation of Employee Influenza vaccine reporting annually
- Assists with the development if internal auditing and manages data collection
- Supports facilities who are participating in research studies by reviewing collected data
- Works collaboratively with facility leadership to improve systems which result improved accuracy and timeliness of data reporting
- Participates in orientation programs
- Participates in work groups designed to improve data collection and reporting
- Other tasks as directed by the supervisor
