POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for overall clinic operations including building security and maintenance, administrative supervision of support and professional staff, coordination with other administrative and clinic programs. Provision of direct behavioral health care services to consumers.
QUALIFICATIONS: Licensed or certified as a psychologist, psychological associate, or social worker with three (3) years post Masters clinical experience; or Psychiatric Nurse with three (3) years' experience post licensure in a mental health setting. Preference for licensed provider with one (1) year experience in supervision or management. Must provide own transportation.
SKILL SETS: Possesses superior organizational, oral, and written communication skills. Must demonstrate a high level of familiarity with Microsoft Office specifically MS-Excel and exceptional customer service skills.
PHYSICAL AND ENVIORMENTAL DEMANDS: Must have visual acuity sufficient to read a variety of written reports and documents; hearing needed sufficient to understand spoken communications by phone and face-to-face with many staff, consumers, and external sources. Travel required to other facilities.
JOB SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS:
- Supervises employees, assign client cases, completes performance evaluations, and approves time sheets and appropriate leave.
- Interviews and recommends employee personnel actions (hiring, firing, promotions, etc.).
- Trains and orients new employees to departmental policies and procedures.
- Performs intake assessments, diagnostic psychosocial evaluations, and performs or arranges psychological testing.
- Conducts individual, group, and family therapy and crisis intervention as necessary
Consults with referral sources in order to coordinate and collaborate on treatment plans.
- Assists in budgeting process, financial monitoring, and controlling expenses.
- Ensures that program is in compliance with all applicable federal and state licensure regulations and standards.
- Provides leadership for case staffing and administrative meetings.
- Assesses administrative problems and initiates resolutions in consultation with appropriate clinical and administrative staff. Coordinates interfacing of clinic therapist with other agency clinical programs.
- Coordinates and identifies needs of physical facility and oversees implementation of improvements and/or changes.
- Oversees communications with insurance companies and other third party payers for authorization of treatment.
- Provide clinical supervision to related discipline or area of practices in accordance to relevant State Board requirements and Communicare policy.
- Participates in training for therapist interns and other designated students.
- Consults with other members of the multi-disciplinary team to develop optimal treatment plans for patients requiring behavioral healthcare treatment.
- Develops and delivers community behavioral healthcare information and education, professional continuing education seminars and workshops to the mental health community.
- Maintains regular contact with primary referral sources, serves as liaison to community leaders, referral development; organizes community resources as necessary for implementation of programs.
- Participates and provides leadership in agency continuing quality improvement (CQI) activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
