POSITION SUMMARY: The Manager of Supported Employment oversees the regional Supported Employment Program, ensuring individuals with disabilities receive comprehensive, ongoing support to achieve and sustain meaningful employment. This leadership role involves close collaboration with the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation (OVR), Kentucky IPS/Human Development Institute, the Department for the Blind, and the Department for the Hearing Impaired. The position is critical to driving program success, team excellence, and community partnerships, providing a meaningful impact on the lives of individuals served.
QUALIFICATIONS: High School Education or equivalent with four (4) years experience working with individuals. Preference for bachelor's degree in human services or related field. Must provide own transportation

PHYSICAL AND ENVIORMENTAL DEMANDS: Visual acuity necessary for transporting individuals. Work is light with walking, standing, sitting, and occasional stooping. Possible exposure to bloodborne pathogens, biohazardous waste and hazardous waste. Possible exposure to communicable diseases. Strength, balance, and dexterity required when performing safe physical management techniques with acting out individuals. Frequent talking and hearing when communicating with individuals, families, and employers.
JOB SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS:
- Manage the Supported Employment Program by monitoring referrals and ensuring clients are effectively assigned to specialists in their respective areas.
- Lead and facilitate regular team meetings to discuss individual cases, explore job leads, communicate organizational updates, and celebrate team successes.
- Mentor new specialists or assign mentorship to ensure skill development and readiness for role responsibilities.
- Foster collaboration between specialists, Communicare staff, OVR personnel, employers, and community partners to promote consumer success.
- Serve as a key liaison with other departmental supervisors to integrate services, address challenges, and enhance program outcomes.
- Supervise daily operations, monitor staff performance, and provide guidance to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality services.
- Develop and deliver training programs to enhance the team's knowledge and professional growth.
- Conduct performance evaluations, approve employee time management requests, and ensure alignment with organizational policies.
- Oversee recruitment, including interviewing and recommending personnel decisions such as hiring, promotions, and terminations.
- Onboard new employees, providing clear orientation on policies, procedures, and expectations.
- Collaborate on budget development and monitor program financials to ensure fiscal responsibility and efficiency.
- Maintain strategic relationships with OVR, Kentucky IPS/Human Development Institute, the Department for the Blind, and the Department for the Hearing Impaired to promote program excellence.
