Supervisor Jail SAP 8645

POSITION SUMMARY: Coordinates activities of the Jail based treatment programs for substance use disorders (SAP). Carries a caseload.

QUALIFICATIONS: Master Degree in behavioral science field and LCADC or other licensure plus two (2) years of experience in the substance abuse field.

PHYSICAL AND ENVIORMENTAL DEMANDS: Work is light with walking, standing and sitting to perform routine reports, training and supervision. Talking, hearing and seeing needed to communicate with staff, clients and members of the community. Possible exposure to blood-borne pathogens, biohazardous waste and hazardous waste. Possible exposure to infectious or communicable diseases.

JOB SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS:

1. Implements and coordinates a treatment program for adults with substance use disorders who are involved in the criminal justice system. Develops supplemental curriculum to enhance evidence-based curriculum mandated by the Department of Corrections (DOC).
2. Provides administrative supervision to all SAP staff members and SAP interns. Assists with arranging clinical supervision of staff seeking licensure in various disciplines.
3. Arranges coverage for SAP staff members who are absent.
4. Ensures medical records are maintained in accordance with Communicare, AODE, and DOC standards.
5. Conducts/oversees screenings and assessments. Ensures assessments are completed within three (3) business days of program admission.
6. Ensures the CJKTOS is administered to every consumer within ten (10) business days of admission to SAP.
7. Provides individual and group counseling.
8. Provides educational sessions for consumers. Ensures family members receive educational information about substance use disorders and recovery when requested.
9. Ensures that program participants are educated regarding medication assisted treatment. Ensures enrollment paperwork is submitted for all participants who are eligible for the DOC SAMAT program.
10. Ensures a continuing care/aftercare plan is developed in collaboration with each participant prior to completion of SAP.
11. Ensures all discharge paperwork is completed and submitted as required.
12. Maintains the Policy and Procedure manual for SAP services, including a section containing all forms required by DOC with applicable instructions.
13. Ensures that Department of Corrections (DOC) consumer evaluations of treatment services are completed and returned to DOC. Utilizes the results to improve the quality of SAP treatment.
14. Develops and maintains a strong interface with DOC, local jails, and Probation and Parole.
15. Ensures SAP services are developed, provided, and maintained in accordance with current Licensure and Regulatory standards, DOC and Communicare Policies.
16. Participates regularly in supervisory sessions with Regional Manager - A&D.
17. Provides written reports and evaluations as required. Ensures participant roster and jail bed request form are submitted daily.
18. Participates in diagnostic treatment planning.
19. Interfaces with other programs as requested.
20. Provides consultation, education and training to others as requested.
21. Participates in agency continuing quality improvement (CQI) activities.
22. Performs other duties as assigned.

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS:

2. Attends mandatory in-services and other training/educational programs as required.
