POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for the oversight of clinical billing operations which includes billing and clerical staff. Supervise the daytoday billing operations in the region, staff schedules and reporting requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS: Associate Degree with emphasis in Business and five years related experience in medical office billing. Additional 2 years' experience may substitute for Associate degree. Excellent communication and computer skills required.
SKILL SETS: Knowledge of: medical terminology, clinical operations and billing procedures, Records maintenance skills, patient registration procedures and documentation, planning and scheduling techniques, related clinical accreditation and certification requirements, ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports.
PHYSICAL AND ENVIORMENTAL DEMANDS: Visual acuity necessary for updating files and completing documents. Requires frequent stooping, kneeling and crouching to file records. Hearing and talking is necessary to answer phone and talk with employees and other individuals. Work is light with walking, standing and sitting. Manual dexterity is required to perform work processing and other clerical duties.
JOB SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS:
- Maintain oversight and provider assistance to staff pertaining to collection of client receivable balance reports.
- Coordinates with clinic manager the client scheduling system in order to maximize access to services.
- Maintaining financial stability by enhancing income and controlling expenses; ensures collection of client fees and accurate input of all financial/insurance data.
- Coordinates requisition of office, cleaning, and building supplies; monitors petty cash disbursement.
- Ensures staff provide excellent customer relations, provides information on services to clients, and clarification on billing matters.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
