What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mental Health Tech position at Communicare Ms?
Responsibilities for Mental Health Tech:
- Assist clinical team in the general activities of the program.
- Orient new individuals into the program by reviewing the schedule and ensuring their needs are met, when appropriate
- Provide direct care and supervision to individuals receiving services.
- Facilitate recreational activities, including board games, movies, cards, etc.
- Help ensure a safe living environment for all residents, to include cleaning and other housekeeping duties as requested.
- Assist with management of unstructured time.
- Help enforce program schedule and program rules.
- Maintain accurate and up to date records on assigned individuals, such as behavior reports.
- Supervise and assist residents with daily living skills as needed.
- Wash linens and fill all hygiene boxes.
- Ensure orientation packets are available for all new individuals coming in for treatment.
- Assist staff in the admission process
- Fill in for other staff as needed and assigned by the Coordinator.
- Man facility phone service and handle referral of all emergency calls to appropriate Communicare crisis staff.
- Provide administrative assistance when requested such as scanning documents and filing them into the chart in the EHR, making copies, etc.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Acceptable criminal background check.
