Job Overview
We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) to join our team and assist in providing speech and language services to students in a school setting.
Job Description:
As an SLPA, you will work under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to support students with speech, language, and communication challenges. You will assist in the implementation of individualized treatment plans, conduct assessments, and provide therapy services to students in both one-on-one and group settings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the SLP in planning, implementing, and monitoring therapy programs.
- Provide direct therapy services to students based on individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Conduct speech and language screenings and assist in assessments.
- Document student progress and report on outcomes to the supervising SLP.
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and parents to support students' communication goals.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and positive learning environment.
- Attend and participate in IEP meetings and team collaboration sessions as needed.
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree or equivalent experience in Speech-Language Pathology or a related field..
- Experience working with children, preferably in a school or educational setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Compassionate, patient, and enthusiastic about working with children.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with students with a variety of speech and language disorders.
- Knowledge of special education processes and IEP development.
