Communion of Saints Roman Catholic Parish is a growing faith community in the Diocese of Cleveland. Situated in the communities of Cleveland Heights and East Cleveland, Communion of Saints Parish seeks to deepen the discipleship in Jesus Christ with all those that they serve. Communion of Saints Parish has kicked off an ambitious plan to build and improve its physical spaces as well as its outreach to all those who hunger for a relationship with the Lord Jesus.

Position Summary:

Communion of Saints Parish is seeking a faith-filled, professional, execution-oriented individual to join the Pastoral Team in order to help lead this outreach and engagement. The Coordinator of Pastoral Ministry/Executive Assistant to the Pastor is a relationship builder, inviting, connecting, and supporting the many parishioners who invest their time, talent, and treasure in the life of the parish. Working closely with the Pastor, this person will provide administrative support, serving as his executive assistant. The Coordinator of Pastoral Ministry/Executive Assistant to the Pastor will have a mix of responsibilities requiring both a highly strategic and pastoral mindset and project management skillset to serve well within a very dynamic environment. The Coordinator of Pastoral Ministry/Executive Assistant to the Pastor must be a self-starter, service-oriented, and model joy-filled discipleship. Weekend presence in the parish will be required as necessary.

Specifically, the Coordinator of Pastoral Ministry/Executive Assistant to the Pastor will:

  • Pastoral Support - Provide administrative support to the Pastor and other parish leaders, including maintaining the Pastor’s calendar, scheduling appointments, and meetings. Handling all correspondence, overseeing the maintenance of accurate parish records, and preparing documents, presentations and reports as indicated by the Pastor.
  • Volunteer Leadership - Build and maintain the community of active volunteers that serve Communion of Saints Parish. This includes the recruitment, training, communication, and scheduling of all ministry volunteers (e.g., special events, hospital and homebound visitation, other ministry leaders)
  • Outreach and Follow-up - Coordinate and increase the outreach and follow-up to parishioners who are experiencing sacramental moments and other life events or parish interactions. This includes outreach to the newly married, families of those recently baptized, the bereaved, and new individuals and families registering in the parish.
  • Staff Leadership - Support members of the Pastoral Team to provide the proper guidance and coordination among initiatives. This includes Adult Faith Formation, Youth Ministry, Music Ministry, School, and Communications.
  • Event Support – Create and establish the official parish calendar to ensure that individuals planning events have the necessary support from the parish, and that all the gathering spaces on each campus are effectively and efficiently utilized.
  • Communication - Ensure effective communication between the Pastoral Team and the parishioners through the development and coordination of various means and methods. This includes working closely with the Pastoral Team on the use of the website, email, bulletin, social media, and other targeted communication.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree is highly desirable. Graduate degree is desirable.
  • Minimum of 3-4 years experience in pastoral ministry, stewardship, marketing, or related field.

Critical Qualifications/Skills:

  • Demonstrated commitment to the mission of the Roman Catholic Church and a thorough understanding of Catholic parish life and ministry.
  • An active and deep faith with full participation in the communal worship and life of the Church.
  • Excellent attention to detail and follow-up with people and tasks.
  • Excellent computer skills—knowledge and ability to use Microsoft Office and Parish data base programs
  • Possesses a high degree of initiative, flexibility, and collaboration.
  • Processes the ability to work in the tactical world (get things done today) but also with a stated and clearly defined plan (for the future).
  • Exhibits excellent written, verbal and public speaking skills
  • Must be a team player, possess high energy level, and be a self-starter.
  • Excellent interpersonal relationship skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $49,985.32 per year
