What you will do…
Our RN will function as an active member of the clinical interdisciplinary team, providing healthcare services that assist individuals in attaining and maintaining an optimum level of wellness throughout their lifespan. The RN will be responsible for communicating health care information to families and/or residential providers. The RN will facilitate new hire orientation nursing module and train newly hired employees on unique protocols monthly and as needed.
- The pay for this position will be $38 per hour
- This is a part time position working 40 hours a week.
- The schedule is Monday-Friday from 8:00am - 4:00pm.

You can make a difference by…
- Being responsible for the health and well-being of individuals supported in the program. Providing health care services that assist individuals in attaining and maintaining an optimum level of wellness throughout their lifespan.
- Administering medications and treatments as prescribed by the PCP, ensuring adherence to CARF, DDS, Medicaid and or DPH regulations.
- Ensuring daily management of medical needs and communication with residences, administering first aid when necessary, making sound judgments about care needed with individual injuries and illnesses, and providing follow up, as necessary.
- Providing individual and/or group member and staff training in relevant areas (e.g., health, hygiene, safety, diet, medical protocols, etc.).
- Facilitation of new hire orientation nursing module monthly and as needed
- Providing direct support to individuals as needed.
- Providing assistance and coverage at other day programs as needed.
- Completing written and or electronic reports, notes, assessments, etc. as required in a clear, concise, and professional manner. This includes, but is not limited to, daily nursing notes, monthly nursing progress notes, ISP, and annual review documentation.
- Maintaining medication books, appropriating sections of member medical files, etc. to ensure program compliance with all regulations established by DDS, DPH, CARF, and or Medicaid.
- Ensuring annual updates of physical examinations, emergency treatment forms, doctors’ orders etc. in order to meet established guidelines.
- Advising the program director and staff of any medical problems that may hinder an individual’s progress or that affect participation in program.
- Executing duties to reflect reasonable safety standards. Universal/standard precautions must be utilized, and training obtained in areas that constitute risk.
- Providing physical support, assisting with lifting, and transferring members who have physical challenges as needed.
Qualifications and Skills
- Registered Nurse with current Massachusetts license. New Grads welcome to apply
- A valid driver's license, acceptable driving record and reliable transportation is required.
- A demonstrated ability to make appropriate, accurate judgments including handling of emergency situations, and the mental and physical ability to successfully perform job duties and responsibilities which include, but are not limited to, providing physical support to individuals having physical limitations such as lifting and transferring persons served as needed. Ability to lift, transfer, push/pull, maneuver, and reposition 25 pounds.
- The ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing with individuals, families, physicians, service providers and case managers.
- Demonstrated ability to set limits, to solve problems independently, and to appropriately protect confidential information.
- Demonstrated ability to monitor and report on an individual’s progress, challenges, and status verbally or in writing as required
- Successful candidates will be required to complete a background check including references, CORI, and fingerprinting.
