Communities In Schools of Central Texas (CISCT) is currently seeking three full-time Program Managers to lead CISCT services at Austin Community College - ACC Hays, ACC Riverside, and ACC Highland.

The Program Manager will promote and lead a strategic and collaborative approach to implement CISCT and ACC's - Access to College and Transition Supports (ACTS) initiative. The Program Manager will implement a multi-pronged strategy to provide underserved students transitioning to ACC with layered supports to meet their individualized needs. Services include case management activities, identifying and linking students to ACC resources, and the creation of a supportive peer support network among ACTS students. The Program Manager will also coordinate and cultivate new and enhanced partnerships with community partners to help meet the needs of the ACC campus communities.

This position is funded by Austin Community College and Communities In Schools through a 2-year funded contract, with a possibility of extension.

What we offer:

CIS offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience in a similar position. The starting salary range for this position is $3,750/mo. Salaries are determined by qualifications and relevant experience. New hires are typically brought into the organization at a salary between the range minimum and midpoint depending on experience and in alignment with internal equity.

What you’ll bring:

  • Deep understanding of the complexities faced by low-income, first-generation, and disabled students and adults.
  • Demonstrative experience providing college access services to individuals from populations with identified socioeconomic disadvantages.
  • Deep understanding of financial aid terminology, FAFSA filing requirements, types of federal student loans, and loan rehabilitation, work study.
  • Experience in college access and educational advising issues for underrepresented populations in higher education (i.e., admissions, securing scholarships, major and course selection, and experience working with individuals to promote financial and economic literacy).
  • Experience in other applicable program regulations.
  • Knowledge of and ability to advise for high school and college coursework.
  • Knowledge of and ability to develop Individualized Education Programs (IEP), evaluate transcripts, and interpret exam scores.
  • Commitment to supporting academic needs of students facing barriers to educational success through coaching/advising, counseling, instruction, advocacy, and/or education.
  • Experience designing, managing, and/or implementing programs for underserved individuals.
  • Life experience with barriers similar to those from target populations including, but not limited to, being a member of an underrepresented group in higher education, being a first-generation student, being from a low-income family, or having a disability.
  • Master's degree or higher in Education, Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, Higher Education Administration, Public Administration, or a related field, preferred.

  • Demonstrate ability to thrive under pressure in complex and ambiguous situations
  • Demonstrate experience in executing projects effectively with little direction

Technology Skills
 

  • Demonstrate technological proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook and virtual communication tools including MS Teams and Zoom 
  • Ability to learn and utilize data management systems such as Salesforce
  • Demonstrate electronic document work flow skills such as document creation, file saving, file copying, making duplicates or backup copies, file downloading file naming and locating files using windows explorer
  • Demonstrate ability to formulate appropriate questions to seek out technical support in a timely manner
  • Strategies to retain technical information as relevant to job function, such as the ability to recall technical instructions, policies and procedures
  • Ability to anticipate and respond to technical needs based upon work environment and changing staff needs at local offices, such as requesting more or different computer equipment, software or IT solutions


Reporting Structure: This position is supervised by the Senior Director of ACTS unless otherwise designated by the Chief Executive Officer. This position may supervise AmeriCorps members, interns, and/or volunteers as necessary.

Worksite:  This position is designed to work full-time across different school campuses (including High Schools and college campuses) within Central Texas. Occasional work hours in the evening and occasional travel between the administrative office in Austin, Texas and the campus site may be required.
