Position Overview:
Communities In Schools of Greenbrier County (CISGC) has served as a 501©3 nonprofit organization and accredited affiliate of the nation’s leading provider of integrated student supports for two decades. This position serves as support to the mission of CISGC through successful execution of administrative and outreach-related duties. As such, the function of this position promotes the efficacy and sustainability of services CISGC provides to local schools, students, their families, and community.
Essential Functions:
Administrative-
- Manage administrative duties associated with CISGC staff, board, and committee meetings as well as logistics and organization.
- Maintain databases and other records systems that ensure organizational efficiency (including electronic and paper records, file-sharing, organizational calendars, etc.).
- Maintain donor data base including updating donor contact information, contributions, and other income).
- Assist Executive Director with onboarding process (including background checks, drug tests, reference checks, scheduling, new hire paperwork, materials/supplies, etc.)
- Act as initial point of contact via incoming calls and other communications and directing messages to appropriate parties.
- Order supplies for central office, school-based offices, and other organizational needs.
- Record detailed minutes with accuracy and professional grammar at board, staff, and committee meetings.
- Keep the office space appearance in a neat, clean, and orderly manner.
Communications-
- Assist with organizing/distributing information via electronic platforms (such as Microsoft Outlook, Teams and OneDrive).
- Assist with drafting/distributing memorandums, reminders, and PowerPoint presentations.
- Other internal and external communication efforts.
Outreach-
- Assist with collecting, creating, publishing, and archiving client testimonies.
- Assist with social media/website management, reports/newsletters, appeal letters.
- Research and recommend funding prospects.
- Assist with cultivation and stewardship of relationships with donors, partners, and other stakeholders (including acknowledgements, other appreciation efforts, etc.).
- Coordinate, attend, and support events sponsored by CISGC and partners as needed.
- Other activities in support of the annual development plan to promote the mission and goals of CISGC.
Finance-
- Prepare deposits and maintain deposit records (including tracking checks, cash, and electronic contributions).
- Accounts payable.
- Assist in processing reimbursement request forms.
- Reconcile receipts and provide income/expense reports to accountant monthly.
- Maintain budget (including grant, special projects, and other expenses).
- Manage and maintain all required licenses and appropriate memberships.

Necessary Skills:
- Superior verbal and written communication skills.

- Graphics design software experience is a plus (Adobe, Canva, InDesign, etc.).
- Strong interpersonal skills including ability to work with a diverse team.
- Nonprofit experience preferred.
- Marketing/development, operations, and/or management experience is a plus.
- Must have strategic, “big picture” thinking and an inherent desire for continued professional and personal growth.

- Must be able to lift 20 pounds.
- Must be able to travel, including overnight, upon occasion to provide event support.
Required Education/Experience:
- Associate degree and 3 plus years of related experience preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree and related experience is a plus.
Other Requirements:
- Must have reliable transportation and valid driver’s license.
- Must be willing to undergo a background check.
- Must be able to pass a drug test.
Schedule:
- Full-time/12-month.
- In-person position.
- 8:00 am- 3:30 pm Monday-Friday (additional hours as necessary depending on need).

Salary:
$34,000-37,100 (depending on education & experience).
