About Us:
The Communities of Coastal Georgia Foundation (CCGF) seeks a focused and self-motivated intern to provide administrative support and assist with event management. CCGF is a 501(c)(3) public foundation with $53 million under management serving Coastal Georgia. Our mission is to strengthen our communities through engaged philanthropy. CCGF connects caring individuals with impactful causes in Camden, Glynn, and McIntosh counties along Georgia's coast.
Position Overview:
This internship will support the development and implementation of communications activities to raise awareness of CCGF. The intern will assist in planning special events and producing high-quality content to promote the Foundation's work across print, digital, and social media platforms.
This Communications Internship is designed to provide valuable professional skills development opportunities. The intern will play a key role in conceptualizing, designing, and implementing a regional communications strategy that aligns with the Foundation's strategic goals of Sustainability, Scale and Scope, and Significance.
The Communications Intern will work both independently and collaboratively with the CCGF team to achieve organizational goals and initiatives that enhance the Foundation's brand visibility and service offerings regionally and beyond. Responsibilities will include producing earned and paid media content (digital and traditional), maintaining a user-friendly website, and designing versatile marketing materials. The successful candidate will embrace the Foundation's mission and work with a strong understanding that our team is driven by the opportunity to contribute to the greater good.
Qualifications:
- Firm grasp of social media tools and platforms
- Related experience in marketing or communications is a plus
- Understanding of basic public relations and marketing principles
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, WordPress, and Mailchimp is highly desired
- Knowledge of HTML, website content management, and graphic design is a plus
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with a strong emphasis on professionalism and attention to detail
- Genuine enthusiasm for creating compelling marketing materials that amplify human flourishing, philanthropy, and the communities we serve
- Self-starter with strong time-management, creative problem-solving, and professional communication skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team with a high level of professionalism and a commitment to excellence
- Commitment to continuous improvement of service quality and the Foundation's mission
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the ongoing development and implementation of an annual communications strategy, including daily content creation
- Assist in planning, writing, and managing e-newsletters
- Update and maintain the Foundation's website using WordPress with current events, relevant news, and other pertinent information
- Assist in designing event/program fliers, graphics, and other marketing materials
- Manage and maintain CCGF’s social media presence, including daily monitoring, posting, scheduling, and reporting on Facebook updates
- Provide input on creative communication strategies and social media campaigns.
- Assist in planning and coordinating various fundholder and community events
- Research, evaluate, and recommend event venues, vendors, or contractors
- Collaborate with staff on new ideas, directions, and tools for marketing and communications
Start Date: Immediately
Internship Duration: Up to 6 months
Hours: 15-20 hours per week
Compensation: $18 per hour
