What are the responsibilities and job description for the QA - Asst Director of Nursing position at Community Access Unlimited?
CAU is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing who will be responsible for the coordination of quality medical services for members and supervision of the nursing staff in conjunction with the Director of Nursing.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE : BSN preferred. Minimum three years experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or dually diagnosed individuals in the community nursing field with progressive nursing responsibilities & staff supervision / training experience.
SHIFT : Various shifts, evenings and weekends as required for program / training coverage.
JOB TASKS :
- Supervises nursing staff at the various locations throughout CAU, on the medical aspect of their roles at the programs.
- Maintains a 24 / 7 on-call for nursing issues and call outs (as per agreed upon schedule with other nurses) etc.
- Effectively follows up on coverage up to and including the need to go in if no coverage is found thru sub list / other nurses.
- Maintains effective member / program / staff relations.
- Completes & follows up on medical audits appropriately & care plans as needed.
- Conducts member assessments regarding medical issues and situations as needed.
- Handles scheduling and conducts trainings on medical topics at the main office and site locations as needed.
- Trains new nursing staff on how to conduct trainings.
- Trains new nursing staff on how to conduct audits.
- Ensures a high level of quality assurance regarding members' medical needs.
- Thoroughly documents all members' medical / health issues and situations.
- Maintains program operations, supply orders, and facilitates program development.
- Trains new nurses in their roles and various expectations at CAU
- Assists DON / AED of Professional Services with medical projects, investigations, and more as assigned.
- All other duties as assigned including, but not limited to, cover the DON duties when that position is out.
