Under the supervision of the Associate Director of Child Development, this position is responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing a comprehensive system to ensure the health and safety of all facilities, extending the learning environment beyond the classrooms. This role involves collecting, interpreting, and analyzing data to identify areas for improvement and recommending actionable solutions. The position is accountable for ensuring compliance with Kentucky Child Care Licensing Regulations and Head Start Performance Standards regarding health and safety. Additionally , the role supervises Health and Safety Specialists and oversees program monitoring of health and safety practices across child development centers. Collaboration with department managers is essential to effectively carry out duties and responsibilities. The position is also tasked with managing health and safety policies and procedures, ensuring adherence to local, state, and federal regulations as well as best practices.
1. Bachelor's degree in health, science, early childhood, safety and other related fields.
2. Two years of relevant work experience in health and safety management, preferably in an educational or childcare setting.
3. Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal health and safety regulations.
4. Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
5. Ability to analyze risks and implement effective solutions.
6. Certification in CPR, First Aid, or similar health and safety certifications is a plus.
7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
