STRATEGIC FUNCTION
To develop and manage a process to re-grant St. David’s Foundation resources through a community-directed and participatory process that reflects the needs, voices, and priorities of communities with the greatest health needs. Secondarily, to begin the work of establishing a process by which CAI can develop a formal fund development program to benefit all CAI programs.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Grantmaking Process Development & Management:
- Design and implement a participatory grantmaking framework that aligns with community needs and priorities.
- Develop and oversee application, selection, and reporting processes that emphasize equity, transparency, and community engagement.
- Cultivate relationships with community stakeholders, local non-profit organizations; and to inform and strengthen the grantmaking strategy.
- Establish procedures and tools for evaluating the program’s effectiveness.
- Monitor program effectiveness, ensuring continuous improvement and impact measurement.
- Facilitate advisory groups and community decision-making bodies to ensure meaningful participation in funding decisions.
- Provide regular reports and updates on grant distribution, impact, outcomes, and lessons learned.
Strategic Planning & Program Development:
- Align grantmaking activities with the mission, vision, and strategic plan of the St. David’s Foundation.
- Establish goals, objectives, tasks, and timelines to achieve program success.
- Ensure adherence to best practices in non-profit and participatory grantmaking.
Collaboration, Community Engagement & Reporting:
- Serve as a liaison between CAI, St. David’s Foundation, and community partners to ensure alignment and shared goals.
- Provide technical assistance, capacity-building support, and strategic guidance to funded organizations.
- Represent CAI in community meetings, conferences, and sector-wide collaborations related to equitable grantmaking and fund development.
- Provide relevant information, reports, and recommendations to the Executive Director and Board of Directors as needed.
- Work closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure program alignment and efficiency.

Fund Development Strategy:
- Conduct an initial assessment to identify opportunities for creating a sustainable fund development program for CAI.
- Collaborate with leadership and key stakeholders to design a framework of a fund development plan for CAI.
- Support the development of a process of funding proposals, donor engagement strategies, and long-term sustainability planning.
Financial & Administrative Oversight:
- Manage the fiscal aspects of the program, including budgeting, financial reporting, and compliance with funding guidelines.
- Ensure funds are distributed in alignment with St. David’s Foundation and CAI priorities and community needs.
- Maintain accountability and transparency in all financial and administrative operations related to the program.
- Establish clear criteria for selecting candidates, conduct thorough interviews, and make informed recommendations for hiring or termination based on organizational needs and performance evaluations.
- Identify training needs and develop programs to enhance employee skills, knowledge, and performance. Provide leadership and guidance to staff, ensuring they understand their roles and responsibilities while fostering a positive work environment through regular communication and support.
- Implement an efficient performance evaluation process to assess employee performance, provide constructive feedback, and identify areas for professional growth. Establish a clear framework for addressing employee misconduct or performance issues, recommending appropriate disciplinary actions in accordance with company policies to ensure fairness and consistency.

REQUIREMENT/QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred:
- Master’s degree in public administration, nonprofit management, finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in grantmaking or nonprofit management.
- Strong understanding of participatory grantmaking and community-led funding models.
- Experience working with diverse communities, particularly those experiencing health and economic disparities.
- Excellent leadership, project management, and strategic planning skills.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (i.e. ability to speak and read in both languages).
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., nonprofit management, public administration, social work, or related area)
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in grantmaking, nonprofit leadership, or community development.
- Deep understanding of participatory grantmaking, grant management, equity-centered funding models, and community-driven decision-making.
- Demonstrated experience in fund development, including donor relations, grant proposal writing, and revenue diversification.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to design, implement, and evaluate complex programs.
- Evidence of excellent communication and facilitation skills, with a commitment to community engagement and collaboration.
- Experience collaborating with local partners.
- Experience collaborating with outside funders.
- Strong computer skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
