DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
May include the following:
- Assist Adult Education Instructor and/or Coordinator in facilitation of new student orientation process which includes greeting and registering new students, administering required baseline assessments, scoring of assessments, introducing students to staff and services in a pleasant and effective manner. Orientation process will vary according to assigned duties.
- Assist Adult Education Instructor and/or Coordinator in maintaining retention in classroom and/or site by participating in outreach and recruitment efforts as assigned by immediate supervisor.
- Refer students to different resources as appropriate.
- Address walk-in inquiries about Adult Education program, special projects, and/or site services.
- Answer telephone and relay messages accordingly.
- Perform data entry duties by utilizing database software to record student hours by program content area, complete monthly attendance and special population statistical reports and prepare program information for TEAMS (Texas Education Adults Management System) reporting system as assigned.
- Assist in administering or tracking of required progress assessments on students as assigned.
- Assist in preparing monthly attendance, achievement, activity, and other reports as assigned by immediate supervisor.
- Participate in workshops, in-service training, and make use of personal and professional growth as outlined by the Texas Workforce Commission professional development requirements and/or as assigned by supervisor.
- Work with Adult Education Instructor and/or Coordinator in training and supervising interns, substitutes, volunteers, and others as applicable or assigned.
- Work with Adult Education Leadership Team and CAI’s Leadership Team in establishing and meeting applicable program goals and objectives outlined in CAI’s strategic plan.
- Perform general clerical tasks related to the Adult Education program that include typing, filing, email communication, Internet searches, and word processing.

REQUIREMENT/QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred:
- Experience in office and/or management setting
- Experience working with a variety of cultural and economic contexts
- Experience working in collaborative or “team” environments
- Bilingual (Spanish) communication skills
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Computer literate, particularly in common Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Google)
Other Requirements:
- At least 18 years old
- Valid Texas Driver’s License
- Daily access to vehicle
- Vehicle Insurance (Personal Injury and Liability)
