Position Overview
The PFCE Specialist is responsible for the full execution of the Head Start PFCE Framework within the Head Start and Early Head Start Program models. This position involves positive and goal-oriented relationships combined with cultural and linguistically responsive practices to support family well-being, success for children, and community investment.
Key Responsibilities
Build and support positive and goal orientated relationships with program parents.
· Plan, organize, and execute all objective-based parent engagement opportunities within the program at both the classroom and building level.
· Implement parent support classes, informational events and provide direct individualized support for parents in areas of mental health, positive parenting practices, and other needs as identified through the program self-assessment and community needs assessment processes.
· Implement special service programs such as mom.net addressing specific parental needs within the program.
· Collaborate with families in transition to kindergarten efforts through partnerships with local school districts.
Family Engagement
· Plan, organize, and execute all building/program level family engagement events.
· Create and administer family satisfaction surveys and gather family input related to program operations.
· Plan, organize, and execute Parent Committee following regulations as outlined in the Head Start Performance Standards.
· Plan, organize, and execute all program recruitment efforts.
· Complete all returning and new student annual and new enrollment processes following the program’s Eligibility, Recruitment, Selection, Enrollment, and Attendance (ERSEA) roadmap. Maintain all enrollment paperwork in an organized fashion per HSPPS and Kansas Licensing Regulations.
· Complete all EHS to HS transition eligibility processes following the program’s ERSEA roadmap.
Participate and facilitate community engagement and relationships
· Provide oversight of schedules and conduct to program volunteers.
· Provide recruitment for program volunteers.
· Track in-kind revenue and maintain electronic records per procedures in GoEngage program management system.
· Provide oversight of schedules and conduct to program interns.
· Provide recruitment for program interns via collaboration with local universities, community colleges and technical programs.
· Participate in all program community-based meetings to include, but not limited to, the Shawnee County Early Childhood Collaborative.
· Explore and create new community partnerships.
· Write and maintain Memorandum’s of Understanding with community partners.

· Participate in program operations as a member of leadership through participation in leadership meetings and assisting in full execution of the program’s mission.
Qualifications
· Education: Associate degree in early childhood education, social work or related field.
· Experience:
· Equivalent coursework and work experience will be considered for candidates without a degree.
· Community Action Early Childhood Outcomes experience a plus.
· Skills:
· Able to lift 50 pounds.
· Able to read, write, speak, and comprehend English.
· Able to read, write, speak and comprehend Spanish a plus.
This position requires the operation of either company owned or company-controlled motor vehicles and will be subject to the standards outlined by the corporate motor vehicle insurance policy.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $40,400.00 per year
