Position: Infant/Toddler Teacher
As an Infant/Toddler Teacher, you’ll nurture and support the development of our youngest learners. Under the guidance of our Site Manager, you’ll build strong, meaningful relationships with infants, toddlers, and their families while developing and implementing enriching, developmentally appropriate curriculum. Your work will support the physical, emotional, and social growth of each child, laying the foundation for a lifetime of learning.
What You’ll Do:
- Primary Caregiving: Provide close, attentive care for infants and toddlers, ensuring their health, safety, and well-being.
- Developmentally Appropriate Curriculum: Create engaging learning experiences using the Creative Curriculum and reflect on your teaching through observation and assessment.
- Individualized Support: Personalize care for each child through developmental screenings and by integrating family feedback into daily routines.
- Positive Guidance: Foster a supportive, nurturing environment where children can express their feelings, explore their world, and develop positive behaviors.
- Inclusive and Welcoming Space: Create a warm, inviting classroom where diversity is celebrated, and all families feel valued.
- Partnering with Parents: Collaborate with parents to support their child’s development, conduct home visits, and share progress during conferences.
- Teamwork and Professionalism: Contribute to a positive work environment through clear communication, shared decision-making, and ongoing professional growth.
Qualifications
- Education: AA, BA, or MA in Early Childhood Education or a related field, with the necessary coursework to meet California Child Care Licensing requirements.
- Licensing: Must meet the minimum criteria to get a Child Development Teacher Permit through the California Commission on Teacher Credentialling (CTC) and have or be willing to get a permit.
- Experience: At least 6 months of experience in a licensed infant care center or group childcare program for children under five.
- Skills: Strong communication and management skills, ability to work with diverse families, and proficiency in basic computer skills.
- Bilingual: English/Spanish is highly desirable.
- Certifications: Must have or be willing to obtain Pediatric First Aid and Infant/Child CPR certification within two weeks of employment.
Compensation: We value our staff and offer competitive compensation based on your qualifications:
- Child Development Teacher permit 6 ECE infant/toddler units $38.80
- AA in ECE or Related w/ Teacher Permit, 24 ECE 3 ECE I/T units $40.74
- BA in ECE or Related w/ Teacher Permit, 24 ECE 3 ECE I/T units $41.95
- MA in ECE or Related w/ Teacher Permit, 24 ECE 3 ECE I/T units $44.95
- Bilingual Bonus: Earn an additional 5% for Spanish/English proficiency!
