Position Overview: As a Lead Preschool Teacher, you'll play a crucial role in creating a nurturing environment where children can flourish. You'll ensure that our preschool programming meets the highest standards while supporting the overall functioning of our classroom.
Responsibilities:
- Promote Equity and Inclusion: Foster equal opportunities for all children, prioritize the needs of our diverse community, and challenge cultural biases.
- Primary Care Giving: Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of every child while building strong personal relationships.
- Implement a Developmentally Appropriate Curriculum: Utilize Creative Curriculum for Infants and Toddlers, practicing reflective planning and assessment.
- Provide Positive Guidance: Employ positive techniques to support children's behavior and emotional development.
- Build Partnerships with Parents: Establish strategies to connect home and school learning, regularly sharing information and collaborating with parents.
- Display Professionalism: Adhere to regulations, maintain respectful relations, uphold confidentiality, and demonstrate a positive attitude and punctuality.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- PERMIT REQUIRED: A California Child Development Permit at the Teacher level or higher is required.
- Minimum of 24 Units in ECE or equivalent education/experience.
- At least one year of experience working with children under five.
- Proficient computer skills and strong communication.
- Ability to read and write English (Spanish desirable).
- Pediatric First Aid and CPR certification or willingness to obtain.
- Clearance of background/criminal check and health assessments.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to work effectively with diverse parents.
- Bilingual English/Spanish.
- Knowledge of Head Start Performance Standards.
- Deep understanding of equity, inclusion, and diversity.
