MIECHV EARLY HEAD START HOME-VISITATION PROGRAM
Our program serves children and families throughout Mercer County. We conduct home visits weekly and peer group activities twice a month. Our goal is to provide children with developmentally appropriate educational activities and increase school readiness. We provide educational materials to expectant mothers and help prepare them for the arrival of their new baby. Our program focuses on the family as a whole. We help connect families to resources within their community that may be beneficial to the family’s needs.
Home Visitor: We are seeking an individual passionate about making a difference in the lives of families. The Home Visitor plays a crucial role in supporting families by providing in-home services that promote child development and family well-being. This position provides comprehensive child development services, in the home environment, including support of the parent / child relationship though education focused actives, home visits, group socialization, case management and family advocacy. This is a full-time position based out of the MIECHV Home Visitation office in Bluefield, WV.
- Service Delivery - Provides the coordination and delivery of services to enable healthy and well-adjusted childhood development. Conducts personal in-home visits to develop case management services, while building trust and rapport with clients and their family members. Attends, participates, and completes all required trainings. Identifies and documents barriers and ensures families receive appropriate services.
- Family Enrollment - Identify and enroll families with children under the age of three into the program. Identifies and fosters familiarity with resources, both externally and internally while actively recruiting and enrolling pregnant and postpartum women into the program through various outreach events and community partnerships. Maintains a full caseload and participates in supervisions and staff meetings.
- Group Activity/Class Development - Actively engages in the organization and preparation of the monthly events that focus on child development, parent-child interaction, and education on family well-being. Invites families to attend program events.
- Documentation & Record-Keeping - Documents and keeps records of all visits and case management services provided to families. Paperwork is complete and submitted on time. Maintains strict client confidentiality and adheres to HIPAA regulations.
- Supports the organization as needed.
Required: A Home-Based Child Development Associate (CDA) or Apprenticeship for Child Development Specialist (ACDS) certification, or equivalent coursework as part of an associate or bachelor’s degree within 18 months of hiring, and good communication and computer skills.

Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour
