What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician position at Community Action of South Eastern WV?
The Maintenance Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the functionality and safety of facilities and equipment. Performing maintenance in agency facilities such as basic carpentry and plumbing through written or verbal assignments by the immediate supervisor along with other scheduled tasks. The Ideal applicants will have High school Diploma or GED Equivalent, a valid driver’s license, and two years of related experience. This is a full-time position that is based out of the CASEWV Inc., warehouse in Bluefield, WV, but will travel to all CASEWV Inc. properties.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
- Assist Property Maintenance Supervisor with work orders to make sure completions are done in a timely manner.
- Must be able to perform basic carpentry.
- Assist with loading and unloading of supplies and equipment.
- Must be able to follow instructions when assembling equipment.
- When work is completed, make sure unused supplies and trash is stored or put in its proper place.
- Any other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor within the scope of this job description.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Required Education: High school Diploma or GED Equivalent
- Experience: Two (2) years related experience
- Must have valid drivers license.
- Other: Must be able to work independently or work with others.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Be present on and on time per work schedule.
- Effectively communicate with individuals from various social, economic, and academic backgrounds.
- Must be able to anticipate potential safety and/or health issues which may impact the well-being of clients and staff and actively engage in solutions.
- Must be able to analyze and problem solve
