Community Action Partnerships of Western Nebraska (CAPWN) is a non-profit community-based health and human services organization that serves low-income, disadvantaged and those unable to meet their needs through other sources. The agency was established in 1965 and provides services to over 9,000 individuals, children, and families in three main areas:
- Community Health Services: WIC, Commodity Supplemental Food, Foster Grandparents, Migrant Seasonal Head Start, and Child Development Center.
- Clinical Health Services: Primary Care, Reproductive Health, Diabetes Management, Immunizations, Migrant Health, Ryan White HIV; Behavioral Health including Counseling Services, Medication Management, Medication Assisted Treatment and Substance Use Counseling and Intensive Outpatient Services and Dental Services.
- Supportive Health Services: Family Stabilization, a Teen Outreach Program, SOAR, Youth Leadership Program, Youth Shelter, and Housing Assistance Programs.

Administrative Assistant
Full-time, Monday-Friday 8AM to 5PM
Job Title: Administrative Assistant
Reports To: Executive Assistant
Areas of Responsibility: Greet clients, answer, and distribute telephone calls; provide mail service and represent the Agency in a positive manner through telephone and personal contact with program participants, staff, and the general public.
Major Duties:
- Unlock the main door no later than 8:00 a.m. and lock at 5:00 p.m.
- Greet the clients and public cordially and courteously.
- Check clients in when coming for assistance; issue proper forms to be completed by clients, as applicable.
- Scheduling Emergency Service Appointments for Family Stabilization.
- Answer telephone and determine needs of caller and transfer to appropriate staff.
- Relay messages to staff from clients not comfortable with voicemail.
- Acquire knowledge of programs to assure accurate responses to questions.
- Process incoming mail (date, sort, open and distribute); process outgoing mail.
- Log in all monetary amounts received in the mail.
- Log in and notify program staff immediately of incoming parcels and/or deliveries and faxes.
- Receive rent transactions from clients coming in to pay rent.
- Receive donations.
- Monitor the weather band radio and announce watches and warnings.
- Maintain lobby and work area in an orderly fashion.
- Maintain an adequate supply of blank agency forms.
- Maintain confidentiality of records and all forms of communication.
- Data Input, data quality monitoring, assisting managers and directors with grant reporting and other needs as they arise.
- Assist in designing and developing visual assets and promotional pieces for branding for the agency.

Physical Requirements:
- Regularly talk, hear and have close vision ability.
- Fine manipulation of hands with repetitive action.
- Operate office machines including computer, fax and postage machine.
- Occasionally lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds.
Minimum Qualifications:
Grade: 11
- High School Diploma or GED and one year experience as receptionist or similar office/clerical duties.
- Position requires proficient oral communication in English and Spanish.
- Basic computer skills with experience in Microsoft programs.
- Ability to deal positively with the general public.
- Ability to multitask and handle interruptions throughout the day.
- Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.
