Community Action Partnerships of Western Nebraska (CAPWN) is a non-profit community-based health and human services organization that serves low-income, disadvantaged and those unable to meet their needs through other sources. The agency was established in 1965 and provides services to over 9,000 individuals, children and families in three main areas:
- Community Health Services: WIC, Commodity Supplemental Food, Foster Grandparents, Migrant Seasonal Head Start, and Child Development Center.

Dental Patient Services Representative
Areas of Responsibility: Oversee the general daily activities of the dental clinic; schedule dental appointments, maintain dental charts, perform basic patient intake, handle in-office payments, present treatment plans and make payment arrangements for pending treatment plans.
Major Duties:
- Maintain a hospitable, positive, caring, professional attitude; greet clients cordially and courteously on the telephone and in person.
- Efficiently and effectively handle patient inquiries or concerns in face-to-face encounters, on the phone or through voice mail, recording accurate notes in patient record.
- Present treatment plans to patients.
- Assist with the purchase and storage of materials and supplies; code invoices for processing in finance as needed.
- Schedule appointments, facilitate client check-in and check out; completion of appropriate CAPWN forms & data entry.
- Calculation and determination of sliding fee scale; calculation and collection of payments, determination of presumptive eligibility for Nebraska Medicaid; complete verification of insurance including eligibility and benefits for all insurances.
- Update patient information in the chart.
- Implement procedures for accurate and timely maintenance of client’s dental chart, which includes but is not limited to; appropriate scanning of client paperwork in chart including income documentation and insurance benefits into every household member’s dental record.
- Accurately enter patient data into the appropriate computer programs as required.
- Work with CAPWN Billing Department to complete billing for all dental patients – including billing for Nebraska Medicaid, private insurance, and uninsured patients.
- Maintain confidentiality of records and communications following CAPWN policy and HIPAA privacy and security policies and procedures.
- Perform general housekeeping duties reception area.
- Serve as a role model for effective teamwork among staff and actively work to maintain positive morale and attitude.
- Attend staff training sessions and meetings as required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Computer proficiency and ability to learn new applications.

- Be able to obtain CPR certification.

Working Conditions:

Minimum Qualifications:
Grade: 12
- High school diploma or GED.
- Preference given to those able to communicate effectively in English and in Spanish. Applicable screening will occur for additional compensation.
- One years’ experience as receptionist or similar office/clerical duties preferred.
- One year’s computer experience in data entry and word processing required.
- Excellent customer service skills required.
- Ability to multitask in a busy environment.
- Physically and mentally able to perform required duties.
Grade: 13
- Meet the minimum qualifications above.
- Two years’ experience in office procedures, data entry or customer service.
Grade: 14
- Meet the minimum qualifications above.
- Five plus years’ experience in office procedures, data entry or customer service.
