What are the responsibilities and job description for the Housing Navigator - Shelter position at Community Action Partnership of Kern?
SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Program Supervisor, the Shelter Housing Navigator works with community service providers to build relationships with the community, provide advocacy, and link to benefits and housing. The primary goal is to receive referrals from service providers and social services agencies for unsheltered individuals through community referrals. The Housing Navigator will administer assessment tools, facilitate referrals and resources, and connect to social services and permanent housing. The Housing Navigator will also assist individuals in obtaining housing readiness documentation and enter data into the homeless management information system (HMIS) and/or customer relations management (CRM) software. The Housing Navigator will work as part of a larger team within the Bakersfield-Kern Regional Homeless Collaborative (BKRHC) and other community partners.
