Position: Teacher Aide
Program and Location: North Platte Center, North Platte
Position Summary: The Teacher Aide is responsible for providing teacher support in the classroom. The Teacher Aide also provides a safe, pleasant, active learning, and problem-solving environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assume the role and responsibility of other center positions during staff absences
- Assist in classroom management.
- Assist in daily classroom activities and provide classroom support.
- Assist in implementation of the curriculum including active learning and practices that are developmentally appropriate.
- Assist in implementation of oral health practices.
- Be actively engaged in all Head Start activities and model appropriate behavior.
- Must be comfortable working with children with disabilities.
Education Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Experience in a childcare environment is preferred.
Required Skills:
- Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with the general public and agency employees.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Model appropriate and professional behavior.
Schedule/Hours: 25 hours per week for 37 weeks per year. Scheduled hours are generally between 7:45 am and 2:00 pm, M-T. This position will float between two classrooms and has summers off. This position has the potential to turn into a permanent position for next school year.
Pay Rate: The entry-level rate of pay per hour is $15.25.
