What are the responsibilities and job description for the Substitute Program Aide position at Community Action Partnership of San Luis Obispo County, Inc.?
As a Program Aide, you will support our Site Supervisor and staff in providing exceptional care and engaging activities for our senior clients. Your role will be crucial in ensuring a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for those in our care.
We would love to hear from someone who:
For Level I: Has a High School Diploma/G.E.D. or equivalent.
For Level II: Has 1-2 years of experience in a social, recreational, or health care program, or 2 years of college education in a related field.
For Level III: Is a certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).
As the Program Aide you will:
Plan and implement activities that promote recreation, exercise, socialization, nutrition, and education.
Greet and orient clients, ensuring accurate records of their schedules and needs.
Assist clients with mobility aids and transfers, ensuring their safety.
Prepare and serve meals, maintaining kitchen cleanliness per ServSafe protocols.
Provide personal care, including medication reminders, toileting, and hygiene.
Communicate changes in client status to the Site Supervisor and Program Manager.
Maintain a clean and safe facility, adhering to all safety protocols.
Foster positive relationships with staff, clients, volunteers, and family caregivers.
Open and close the premises as needed.
Follow all safety procedures regarding potential exposure to bodily fluids or blood-borne pathogens.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications:
Must be able to relate well to all people of the community regardless of color, national origin, religion, sex, pregnancy, age, marital status, veteran status, sexual orientation, disability or socio-economic level.
Must be at least 18 years of age by date of hire.
Must comply with the CAPSLO COVID-19 Vaccination Policy, either being fully vaccinated or sign a COVID-19 vaccination declination form.
Based on the program, a current TB skin test/Chest X-Ray may be required.
Employment is contingent upon meeting all applicable job requirements and background requirements. A criminal history clearance is required prior to employment.
Upon hire, agency staff will check the Megan’s Law (or the current sexual predator website) to ensure each staff being hired is clear for employment. Agency staff will check the website annually to ensure all program staff are cleared to work.
