GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Employee performs variety of outreach services, including conducting intake meetings with clients applying for assistance, certifying applications for fuel and electrical assistance, making referrals and assisting with food pantry distribution. This position is customer service based and does not involve case management.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School diploma plus 2-3 years specialized training in social services/non-profit or counseling preferred
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Meets directly with clients to collect information; determines eligibility; verifies and documents information.
- Determines program eligibility; instructs participants in use of program and information to business; community and outside agencies.
- Will be asked to work in other agency offices and/or work sites during fuel season as needed.
- Maintains case files, type case notes, and other related records.
- Assists clients, if necessary, with application process for other benefits they may be eligible for and refers clients to other agencies/services as needed
- Certifies applications and completes application process; maintain client files as necessary
- Assists with answering the phone and other office duties as needed
- Assist with distributing food to clients from food pantry as needed
- Work with staff and clients as necessary to maintain a safe environment for all.
- Conduct yourself in a professional manner suitable for an office environment at all times
- Other duties as assigned
Salary : $18 - $24
