GENERAL SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reports directly to the Executive Director and operates under the general direction of the Community Action Partnership Executive Director. Assists with plans and administering the agency in accordance with the stated purpose and in such a manner that optimum results are achieved in relation to the resources of the agency. In some cases, the Assistant Director also acts as Program Director for specific programs for specific periods of time.
SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Administration:
- Identifies professional and organizational issues and trends, suggesting action, facilitating change and participates in restructuring of programs and services.
- Assists in the organizational visions and direction for the future of the agency.
- Assists the Executive Director with Strategic Planning for the Agency.
- Assists in monitoring all facilities to include spot inspections, repairs and maintenance, construction projects and schedules.
- Facilitates meetings assuring that information is provided in a timely manner.
- Assists in providing the Board with an annual plan including major replacement and repair schedules.
- Assists in seeking out sources of grants for revenue for which the organization qualifies, prepares documents and makes presentations where required to secure the funds.
- Studies statistics for trends and makes needed corrections to ensure maximization of services and minimization of expenses.
- May represent the Agency on various boards and /or committees as a liaison for the agency in carrying out its mission.
- Assists in overseeing Risk Management for the agency to include staff, volunteers and clients.
- Attends meetings, workshops and training sessions, as approved by Executive Director.
- Is required to travel by ground or air to meetings, conferences, trainings, etc.
Program:
- Monitors schedule of activities for the organization.
- Meets with the Program Directors on a regular basis to conduct program planning.
- Demonstrates support for organizational mission, goals and values.
- Maintains staff, client and agency wide confidentiality at all times.
- Attends programmatic staff meetings, as needed.
- Provides the opportunity for cross-functionality within the agency to allow for individual growth and coverage for all job descriptions.
Public Relations
- Maintains positive communication and rapport at all times with staff, customers, and external organizations to include: federal, state and local funding sources, businesses, etc.
- Develops and implements public relations and marketing programs to meet the on-going needs of the clients of Community Action Partnership.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists with supervising all staff within the agency.
- Assists with Human Resources activities to include: recruiting, promotions, hiring, work improvement plans, disciplinary actions and terminations and staff development.
- Assists in the management of staff by clarifying expectations, level of authority, accountability and responsibility.
- Assists with supervision of staff performance and progress and completes performance evaluations in a timely manner.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES):
- BS/BA Degree in Business Administration or a related field is preferred.
- Two years full-time experience in a nonprofit organization with extensive knowledge in the following areas: grant administration, operational management budget preparation and control, supervision and personnel management.
- Experience working with people from various socio-economic and educational backgrounds.
- Demonstrates ability to establish a positive rapport with staff, clients, and other agencies and businesses.
- Experience in providing professional leadership in a multi-faceted organization.
- Experience in creative and visionary planning and implementation of programs.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate in both written and oral forms.
- Must possess a valid Driver’s License and insurable driving record.
- Proficient with computers and software to include Windows, Internet, Microsoft Office software and other office equipment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Constantly: Vision correctable to near 20/20.
Frequently: Sitting, walking, stooping, crouching, kneeling, reaching horizontally and vertically, standing, bending, balancing, use of arms, legs, hands and feet and fine motor skills, color discrimination, peripheral and depth perception, talking and hearing, running, climbing stairs and ladders, crawling, twisting and turning trunk, rapid mental-muscular coordination, reaching down and overhead, pushing and pulling, lifts and carries up to 25 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Frequently: Works indoors in controlled environments. Occasionally works in the field in a variety of non-controlled environments supervising employees or working with the public. High stress situations.

Pay: $25.05 - $36.45 per hour
