You'll join a team of talented and passionate people who are motivated to make our community as strong and resilient as possible.
HOURS : Monday - Friday, 25-28 hours per week, 8 : 00am-12 : 00pm or 8 : 00am-2 : 00pm.
POSITION SUMMARY :
The Bus Driver (CDL) is responsible for operating buses in the provision of transportation services to passengers with regard to their safety, confidence and comfort. Must obey all applicable local, State and Federal laws and regulations.
PROGRAM RESPONSIBILITES :
- Operates vehicle maintaining high safety standards and passenger confidence.
- Follows established route and schedule in a timely manner.
- Responsible for accurate communication pertaining to changes in passenger itinerary.
- Records and reports transportation data, as required.
- Checks all fluid levels and inspects vehicle daily in accordance to manufacturer specification qualifications. Informs immediate supervisor as soon as possible of any malfunctions and needed repair.
- Maintains proper vehicle appearance and cleanliness, inside and out including possessing sensitivity to vehicle performance and limitations.
- Responsible for operating proper communications of the two-way radio system.
- Presents a positive image to the general public.
- Operates in accordance with route cancellation procedures.
- Uses own discretion in operating during adverse weather conditions and informs immediate supervisor of such conditions.
- Reports incidents / accidents as soon as they occur to the immediate supervisor, Director or proper authorities. Adheres to all emergency procedures.
- Reports breakdown to dispatcher and immediate supervisor. Adheres to breakdown procedures.
- Responsible for following and adhering to charter regulations, if applicable.
- Operates under the Agency's Drug and Alcohol Policies for safety-sensitive employees.
- Assists passengers with disabilities.
