A Day in the Life as a Facilities Maintenance Coordinator:
As the Facilities Maintenance Coordinator, you will play a vital role in ensuring that the agencies multiple locations are operational, safe, and running efficiently. Your responsibilities will include:
- Manages all agency and program buildings and grounds, including maintenance, repairs, building equipment, HVAC systems, interior and exterior physical appearance, walkways, parking lots, and maintenance of equipment/systems.
- Ensures building safety, security and compliance.
- Manages maintenance prevention programs, as well as repairs on equipment, electrical, plumbing, heating and HVAC systems and capital improvements of facilities.
- Negotiates with, and is responsible for, facilities vendor contracts, selection of vendors and monitoring performance.
- Plays a crucial role as a Safety Committee member.
Requirements
Qualifications to Be a Facilities Maintenance Coordinator:
To Succeed In This Role, You’ll Need
- Education: High school education or the equivalent credential. Post secondary education in building trades preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of three years of experience in building maintenance, including experience with building systems and grounds maintenance.
- Skills: Ability and skill to use hand and power tools as well as maintenance equipment. Well organized, and able to prioritize tasks and follow through. Communicative and responsive to Agency and Staff needs. Knowledge of HVAC systems. Knowledge of electrical, plumbing and construction of commercial buildings.
- Characteristics: Dependability, attention to detail, and a commitment to serving others.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move items up to 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, and work in various warehouse conditions.
