POSITION SUMMARY:

The Food Distribution and Warehouse Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Program Director with the warehousing and distribution of commodities for The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) and other community food assistance initiatives. Responsible for shipping, receiving, warehousing and product delivery. Responsible for the implementation of record keeping systems and compiling program reports as needed. Assists Director with statewide responsibilities including program planning and implementing services. 


PROGRAM RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Coordinates commodity shipping, receiving, warehousing and distribution deliveries.
  • Ensures proper documentation and accuracy of unloading and loading shipping records.
  • Documents and maintains USDA commodity inventory levels on an ongoing basis and provides monthly reports to the Program Director.
  • Coordinates in-state transportation with NHCAA’s and community feeding organizations to ensure timely product delivery.
  • Responsible for operating and driving Agency trucks and equipment for product shipments and deliveries to Emergency Feeding Organizations throughout New Hampshire.
  • Tracks and maintains records documenting the statewide distribution and receipt of USDA TEFAP commodities by NHCAA’s and local community feeding organizations.
  • Maintains spreadsheets recording commodity distribution delivery records.
  • Maintains program files for participating organizations and agencies to ensure accurate and current records.
  • Assists with compiling and reviewing statistical reports received from participating agencies and organizations and with compiling program reports for the State and Federal Government.
  • Provides information on upcoming commodity deliveries and other pertinent information to NHCAA’s and local community feeding organizations.
  • Provides technical assistance and support to participating community feeding organizations and new applicants.
  • Assists with processing program Agreement Contracts with community feeding organizations and new applicants.
  • Assists with on-site reviews of community feeding organizations to ensure compliance with USDA and State regulations as needed.
  • Maintains files and listing of on-site monitoring visits completed annually to ensure compliance with USDA and State monitoring guidelines.
  • Responsible for loading and unloading trucks and making commodity deliveries.
  • Works to ensure warehouse food storage areas and program equipment is safe, clean and maintained on a regular basis.
  • Operates under the Agency’s Drug and Alcohol Policies for safety-sensitive employees.

  • Communicate proactively with the supervisor regarding workflow, problems, suggestions, etc.
  • Contribute to a positive, team-oriented work environment; and attend team and staff meetings as scheduled.
  • Be punctual for scheduled work, use time appropriately, and complete work in a timely fashion with minimal errors.

Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience:

  • Minimum of one year of relevant experience.
  • Ability to work independently with a minimum of supervision and accept direction.
  • Ability to affectively operate trucks, forklifts and pallet jacks.
  • Strong clerical skills including an ability to organize, implement and maintain record keeping procedures.
  • Ability to work as a team player in cooperation with multiple agencies and organizations.

Education:

  • High School diploma or equivalency credential.

License/Certification:

  • Successful completion of criminal record and driving record checks.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment Agency Drug & Alcohol test; and continued participation in mandatory random NHDOT and Agency drug and alcohol testing.
  • Valid CDL B driver’s license with Air Brake endorsement.
  • NHDOT Medical Card.
  • Forklift Operator Certification within three (3) months of hire date.
