What are the responsibilities and job description for the Food Supply Transporter position at Community Action Program of Evansville and Vanderburgh County?
JOB SUMMARY:
The Food/Supply Transporter will provide the efficient and timely delivery of meals and supplies to the Early Head Start & Head Start centers to ensure the needs are met for Head Start children.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma/GED required.
- Good communication skills.
- Lift on a regular basis taking.
- Operate elevator, if needed.
- Carry = 30lb. milk crates to designated areas.
- Provide annual proof of a physical, TB test, and physician’s statement that provides evidence that the employee had no known communicable disease in an infectious state or physical or mental conditions, which could affect their ability to perform assigned duties. (These items are at the employee’s expense).
- Maintain sufficient physical health which would require the individual to squat, lift, kneel, bend, stand, walk or run, climb stairs, and participate in strenuous activities, as needed, throughout the day.
- Pass required drug screens and criminal history checks, including national fingerprinting.
- Possess a valid driver’s license and car insurance.
- Abide by Indiana state driving laws.
- Bilingual/Spanish a plus.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Read, speak and write proficiently in the English language.
- Verify food delivery destinations.
- Deliver all meals to designated sites in a timely manner.
- Transport empty food containers back to vendor daily.
- Deliver supplies to designated Head Start centers, on assigned days.
- Follow driving directions when delivering food and supplies in different locations.
- Drive in inclement weather.
- Generate and submit paperwork for in-kind donations as given.
- Maintain cleanliness of assigned company vehicle on a weekly basis.
SUPERVISOR: Director of Health & Nutrition Services
TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
Must complete all training as designated by the Director of Health Services & Nutrition and Director of Children’s Services.
RELATIONSHIPS:
The Food/Supply Transporter will establish and maintain the following relationships.
- The Food/Supply Transporter report to the Director of Health & Nutrition Services and is subject to all CAPE policies and procedures.
- The Director of Health & Nutrition Services may specify other associations to be maintained by the Food/Supply Transporter.
