Circles’® underlying foundation is to engage people and organizations in the community to move families permanently out of poverty. This community-based initiative creates relationships across economic class lines, matching people of low income (Circle Leaders) with middle or upper-income Allies. The Circles Facilitator is key for training new participants and volunteer Allies and assisting the two chapter coaches of the Circles Initiative (www.CirclesUSA.org). Utah Valley Circles is a crucial component of the Community Action Services and Food Bank of Utah County's mission to end poverty.
Responsibilities :
The Circles Facilitator lays the groundwork for fostering relationships by providing comprehensive training using the Circles USA curriculum, which includes understanding poverty and trauma, personal finances, establishing SMART goals, communication and strong relationships, and understanding work relationships and the rules of the workforce. The Circles Facilitator may also assist the Chapter coaches in their duties and ensure that all volunteers and Circle Leaders’ needs are met during weekly Circles meetings. The office for this position is based at Community Action Services and Food Bank in Provo, but the Facilitator will also be required to attend weekly meetings on Tuesday evenings at our Provo site.

The Circles Facilitator will perform the following types of duties :
- Ability to speak and write fluently in Spanish and English.
- Promote a supportive, inclusive, positive culture within the training sessions so Circles Leaders and Allies feel supported.
- Manage, prepare, and present new training of Circle Leaders and Allies in Spanish.
- Learn and use the training curriculum provided by Circles USA.
- Ensure confidentiality in all communications – both written and oral.
- Report regularly to the chapter’s Coaches and Coordinator and complete additional tasks as assigned.
- Maintain current knowledge of social services available throughout the community.
- Provide ongoing support and connection for participants and volunteers at each site night.
- Collaborate with the Coaches to maintain regular progress reports.
- Maintain accurate records and required reports.
- Assist the Coordinator as needed in communicating with the Jobs, Education, and Services Resource Team to schedule monthly training at Circles Nights.
- Provide confidentiality, both written and verbal, of all services.
- Ability to stay relaxed in the face of other people’s distress.
- Ability to develop a supportive, empowering culture for diverse community members.
