Founded in 1977, CASA is the official 501c3 domestic violence center based in Pinellas County, FL. We operate the area’s 24-hour hotline and emergency shelter; non-residential programs, such as support groups, economic empowerment and legal advocacy; Child Protective Investigative Team support; community and corporate training; and the CASA Peacemakers anti-bullying and healthy relationship school curriculum.
Position Title: Maintenance / Custodian
Location: Marion County
Reports To: Program Director
Major Function: Responsible for maintaining, cleaning, safety, groundskeeping, and upkeep of all CASA’s properties, equipment, appliances, and vehicles.
FLSA: Non-Exempt
Illustrative Duties:
· Assist with maintenance of all CASA’s facilities, equipment and grounds, and vehicles, in compliance with all applicable fire, health and safety standards, grant requirements, and ensure ADA compliance.
· Maintain the interior and exterior of all CASA facilities to include patching walls & painting, changing out fixtures, changing a/c filters, unclogging pipes, repairing equipment & appliances, cleaning, and other related work.
· Available for call-back and on-call responsibilities as needed.
· Complete maintenance & facility work orders as assigned.
· Prepare CASA’s facilities to ensure that all necessary inspections pass (fire, sanitation/health, elevator, etc)
· Responsible for carrying out preventative maintenance plans for each property.
· Oversee hurricane preparedness operations for each the Marion facilities annually to ensure all properties are properly prepared and all facility related tasks outlined in the COOP are completed in a timely manner.
· Maintain the master key inventory for each Marion property.
· Maintain & update the asset inventory list.
· Maintain & update the equipment inventory list.
· Meet with vendors during routine maintenance or repairs as needed.
· Conduct monthly assessments of each facility and assist in the development of project plans of work that needs to be completed.
· Assist with maintaining a list of vendors and service contracts.
· Complete all other duties as assigned.
General:
· Participate in staff meetings and meetings with your supervisor.
· Understand and abide by CASA’s policies & procedures.
· Demonstrate a commitment to treat residents, volunteers, and co-workers in a respectful manner at all times.
· Agree to work a flexible schedule if needed.
· Complete special projects as requested.
· Complete all other duties as assigned.
· All employees of CASA are considered “essential” and as such may be required to be available to remain onsite and/or required to assist during emergencies and other critical times.
Qualifications:
· High School Diploma or equivalent knowledge preferred.
· Knowledge of basic maintenance skills preferred.
· Ability to function independently and work cooperatively as a member of a team.
· Possess the ability to climb stairs, walk kneel, stoop, bend, climb a step-ladder, and lift at least 50 pounds.
· This job position requires moderate physical demands. Duties may include frequent walking, stooping/kneeling/bending, lifting/carrying, and pushing/pulling during work
· Agree to participate in a background check upon employment.
· Agree to drive agency vehicles as needed.
· Possess a valid Florida State Driver’s License & auto insurance to be verified annually.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour
