Founded in 1977, CASA is the official 501c3 domestic violence center based in Pinellas County, FL. We operate the area’s 24-hour hotline and emergency shelter; non-residential programs, such as support groups, economic empowerment and legal advocacy; Child Protective Investigative Team support; community and corporate training; and the CASA Peacemakers anti-bullying and healthy relationship school curriculum.

Position Title: Shelter Case Manager

Location: Marion County

Reports To: Shelter Manager (Assigned to Shift) Day, Evening, Overnight

Major Function: To provide case management, advocacy, and crisis intervention to survivors of domestic violence and their children who are residing at shelter. Answer the domestic violence; hotline and provide quality services to callers.

Illustrative Duties:

Shelter Case Manager Evening Schedule: Tuesday- Saturday from 4:00PM - 12:30AM, Off Sunday and Monday.

· Provide support, advocacy, crisis intervention, case management, and resources to survivors of domestic violence following the empowerment-based advocacy model.

· Provide services at shelter or outreach as needed.

· Answer the domestic violence hotline and provide quality services to callers.

· Monitor the hotline chat and provide advocacy services to survivors through this platform.

· Monitor the security cameras as assigned.

· Carry an assigned caseload and meet with each participant on a regular basis to provide resources, advocacy, and ongoing safety planning.

· Communicate with the Case Management Manager any needs, concerns, and successes that arise on your caseload.

· Participate in ongoing case reviews.

· Initiate and complete intake documents and procedures.

· Complete all required paperwork, data entry, and monthly reports in a timely manner.

· Work with participants to assist them in assessing their needs and goals and help them develop and implement a plan to achieve their goals.

· Assist survivors with completing the injunction packet and attend court with the survivor as needed.

· Coordinate transportation for survivors and their children as necessary.

· Provide participants with information about the Victim Compensation Program and the Address Confidentiality Program.

· Perform tasks related to participant exits, including packing and storing of belongings.

· Stay current with personal training hours.

· Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of all areas designated for use by participants.

· Facilitate or coordinate support groups/empowerment-based workshops as requested by the Case Management Manager.

· Prepare rooms to receive new intakes by stocking them with necessary supplies and ensuring rooms are in order and ready for the individual or family.

· Ensure basic needs are always stocked in the case management office.

· Assist in cleaning and maintaining the shelter facility and participant rooms.

· Ensure that kitchens are stocked with a variety of appropriate foods.

· Assist with the acceptance and distribution of donations and supplies.

· Monitor inventory level of food, linens, personal care items, and general shelter supplies.

· Facilitate social and recreational activities designed for participants in shelter.

· Must be able to work within an empowerment-based service delivery system.

· Assist in providing coverage in other program areas as requested by management.

· Complete special projects and other duties as assigned.

General:

· Understand and abide by all CASA’s Policies and Procedures.

· Demonstrate a commitment to treat residents, volunteers, and co-workers in a respectful manner at all times.

· Attend staff meetings.

· Attend and participate in ongoing training opportunities.

· Assist with training and supervision of volunteers.

· Agree to work a flexible schedule when required, which may include changing schedules to ensure case management coverage, due to illness, absence, vacation other staff members, or a natural disaster.

· Complete special projects and presentations as requested.

Qualifications:

· High School Diploma or equivalent required. 1 year of related work or life experience preferred.

· Experience working with survivors of domestic violence or other social service or criminal justice related knowledge preferred.

· Demonstrate knowledge of current community resources and ability to maintain working relationships with agencies.

· Ability to work independently and cooperatively as a member of a team.

· Agree to drive agency vehicles as needed.

· Possess a valid Florida State Driver’s License and proof of auto insurance coverage.

· Ability to climb stairs and lift at least 50 pounds.

· Agree to participate in a background check after offer of employment.

· All employees of CASA are considered “essential” and as such may be required to be available to remain onsite and/or required to assist during emergencies and other critical times.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
