Founded in 1977, CASA is the official 501c3 domestic violence center based in Pinellas County, FL. We operate the area’s 24-hour hotline and emergency shelter; non-residential programs, such as support groups, economic empowerment and legal advocacy; Child Protective Investigative Team support; community and corporate training; and the CASA Peacemakers anti-bullying and healthy relationship school curriculum.
Position Title: Shelter Manager, Day/Evening
Reports To: Senior Shelter Manager
Major Function: Responsible for oversight of Case Management and Residential Life advocacy on the assigned shift. Provides supervision and support to Case Manager and Residential Life Advocates and promotes the safety, security, and cleanliness of the shelter. Ensure shelter participants receive quality ongoing case management, advocacy, crisis intervention, information and referrals while residing in shelter. May carry a caseload of Shelter participants as needed.
FSLA Status: Exempt, Full time
Illustrative Duties:
- Performs all administrative, managerial, and supervisor tasks.
- Available for on-call rotation as needed and required.
- Ensure Case Management & Resident Life Advocacy is adequately staffed 24/7.
- Ensure Hotline is adequately staffed 24/7.
- Develop and monitor work plans, process, procedures, and policies as required.
- Responsible for interviewing, hiring, evaluating, and terminating as needed.
- Responsible for understanding and acting in accordance with CASA policies.
- Coordinate, collaborate, and communicate with all program managers to ensure quality service are provided to survivors.
- Set annual goals for Case Management & Resident Life Advocates.
- Facilitate weekly Case Staffings & monthly Shift Meetings.
- Oversee Case Management and RLA Teams to ensure continuity of services to survivors, and collaboration and communication among staff.
- Monitor advocacy service delivery for compliance with grant requirements
- Responsible for the Feeding Tampa Bay food program and works in coordination with the other residential managers to order food and supplies for shelter.
- Oversees Kennel Operations.
- Oversee Basic Need Inventory and ensure adequate supplies are purchased
- Ensures safety checks are completed.
- Provide ongoing, individual coaching and support to Case Management & Resident Life Advocates ensuring successful completion of goals.
- Provide information necessary for site reviews and other monitoring.
- Complete Monthly File Reviews.
- Facilitate staff trainings on the resources available in Case Management.
- Ensure case management operates according to CASA’s principles and standards.
- Responsible for budget and financial monitoring over the shelter Case Management and Residential Life Programs.
- Make recommendations on staffing patterns, changes, and improvements.
- Represent agency at community agency meetings affecting the shelter programs.
- Documentation and submission of timesheets and scheduling of assigned advocates.
- Communicate any and all necessary information to the Senior Residential Restorative Program Manager for the continuity of care.
- Facilitate staff and residents’ complaints through established policies and procedures.
- Provide direct service, advocacy and crisis intervention services to shelter participants.
- Work with the CASA Volunteer Coordinator to train and maintain shelter volunteers.
- Assist with all shelter programs as needed to include Residential Life Advocacy Program, Hotline Program, and Youth Center Programs.
- Work collaboratively with other Residential managers.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or have equivalent life experiences.
- Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner, both written and oral.
- Ability to remain calm and make objective decisions during stressful situations.
- Must exercise a high degree of professional discretion when handling sensitive or confidential information and records.
- Previous Supervisory experience preferred.
- Ability to climb stairs and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Agree to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
- Training and experience in domestic violence preferred.
- Demonstrate the willingness to drive agency vehicles.
- Possess the ability to function independently and work cooperatively as a member of a team.
- Possess a valid Florida State Driver’s License to be verified annually.
- Agree to participate in background check employment.
- All employees of CASA are considered “essential” and as such may be required to be available to remain onsite and/or required to assist during emergencies and other critical times.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $48,000.00 - $51,000.00 per year
