We are seeking a compassionate Bilingual Victim Advocate to provide trauma-informed support, crisis intervention, and advocacy services to individuals affected by violence. The ideal candidate will be fluent in Spanish/English and committed to empowering survivors by connecting them with resources and support.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct advocacy and emotional support to victims of crime, domestic violence, sexual assault, and other forms of trauma.
- Offer crisis intervention via phone, in person, or through our 24/7 Helpline.
- Assist clients in navigating legal, medical, and social service systems.
- Conduct safety planning and needs assessments tailored to each survivors situation.
- Collaborate with law enforcement, legal professionals, and community partners to ensure comprehensive support.
- Facilitate access to mental health counseling and other holistic services.
- Maintain accurate documentation of client interactions and case progress.
- Participate in outreach, education, and prevention efforts within the community.
- Associates, Bachelors or higher in criminal justice, social work or equivalent field desired
- Fluency in Spanish and English (spoken and written) required.
- Experience working with survivors of trauma, domestic violence, or sexual assault preferred.
- Strong understanding of trauma-informed care and victim advocacy principles.
- Ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy, discretion, and professionalism.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and respond to crisis situations as needed.
- Experience in a people-facing role
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience with basic computer programs, such as Microsoft Office suite
Salary : $45,500
