Description
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE :
The Assistant Store Managers Back of House are vital, key leaders within the store and may serve as acting Store Manager when the Store Manager is not present. They provide oversight for the full range of operational activities, resulting in positive experiences for both employees and customers as well as retail profitabilityall in a manner consistent with our Mission and Values. The Assistant Store Managers Back of House set expectations for the proper execution of policies and procedures and respond as appropriate to employee performance. KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY :
Monitors quality of product accepted at the donation door and prepared for the sales floor.
Adjusts pricing based on data provided by the Operations Manager.Collaborates with the Assistant Store Manager Front of House to assess and address inventory and ragout trends.Ensures Warehouse and Procurement inventory are completed following standard operating procedures.Oversees the Bale Truck process and ensures daily completion of baling by Employees.Tracks production metrics, communicates data to Supervisors, and works collaboratively with the team to meet standards.Conducts daily floor walks, sharing insights with Store Management to ensure alignment.Takes responsibility for the overall function of the store when the Assistant Store Manager Front of House is not present.Customer Service -Oversees interactions at the donation door to ensure and promote a consistent and positive donation experience.
Handles donor complaints promptly and professionally.Staffing, Employee Training and Development-Oversees Production / Warehouse Supervisors and Associates.
Conducts weekly or as needed one-on-one meetings with Supervisors.Evaluates potential candidates for cultural alignment and position fit through phone interviews and on-site interviews.Manages the selection and Integration of Associates in accordance with company procedures.Oversees Associate training and supports Production / Warehouse Supervisors in training new Associates on their roles, responsibilities, company policies, procedures and best practices, including cross-training in other departments as needed.Collaborates with the Operations Manager to ensure proper staffing levels in adherence with the labor model.Communicates performance expectations, coaching for improvement and success, ensures productivity in all departments is hitting standards, and utilizes existing performance management tools to document conversations.Assists the Store Manager / District Manager in the annual review process by providing input on the Employees performance.Compliance and Regulatory Activities-Ensures compliance with all applicable state and federal laws, as well as CommunityAid policies and procedures, and ensures these are clearly communicated and followed by Supervisors and Associates.
Facilities and Logistics -Maintains a safe environment for both Employees and customers.
Ensures cleanliness and organization within the Warehouse.Regularly monitors for safety, promptly addressing and taking measures to correct unsafe work conditions.Employee Engagement and Morale-Promotes Employee engagement through regular huddles and team meetings, one-on-one check-ins, special events, and prioritizing employee recognition.

Associate or bachelor's degree related to business management preferred; High School diploma or equivalent requiredMinimum of one-year experience in a supervisory role within a comparable retail or service-oriented business preferredExperience effectively managing in a fast-paced, professional work environmentThe ability to properly handle and maintain confidential informationFlexibility with scheduling and availability to work evenings and weekends on a regular basisProficient in reading, writing, and speaking EnglishMust have a valid Driver's LicenseMust be eligible to work in the U.S without sponsorshipPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :
Ability to frequently lift and carry 21 to 35 pounds.Ability to occasionally carry up to 50 pounds.Ability to push and pull up to 20 pounds.Ability to stand for extended periods.
