Are you an experienced lifestyle professional who is passionate about your career and community? If so, an active adult community in the Mount Holly, NC area is seeking an exceptional Lifestyle Director, who is poised and polished and has well-versed communication and interpersonal skills, to develop and deliver a world-class lifestyle program for our residents.
The Lifestyle Director is the face of the community and brings residents together through events. This person must be self-motivated, detail-oriented and be able to meet multiple daily deadlines. They will need to work effectively with a wide range of community stakeholders, including board of directors, the community management team, and, most importantly, our residents. The ideal candidate must have at least 3 years of professional lifestyle program management experience. Experience with 55 community programming is a plus.
Many events are held on weekends, evenings and holidays. The Lifestyle Director should be available to plan, coordinate and attend the various functions; as well as purchase supplies, preview entertainment and evaluate locations all while upholding regular office needs.
Responsibilities
- Developing, promoting, and executing a full range of events, activities, classes, sports, healthy living programs and fitness opportunities that appeal to a wide range of resident interests
- Seeking resident input on interests as foundational to shaping lifestyle programming
- Recruiting and organizing volunteers to support program activities
- Overseeing Resident Club and Interest Group operations
- Overseeing and scheduling facilities
- Implementing a comprehensive communications plan
- Integrating with the Communications Committee for seamless execution and timely delivery of communications
- In collaboration with the Communications Committee, maintain & maximize the community website as key communications channel for residents
- Producing an online community newsletter
- Serving as an Imagery champion with the broader regional community
- Building awareness of and partnerships with local businesses and organizations
- Actively seek and manage advertising and sponsorship opportunities in support of the community and, specifically, Lifestyle programming
- Managing Lifestyle program budgets
Requirements
- 3 years of Lifestyle Director or related event industry experience
- Available to work some nights, weekends, and holidays
- Able to focus and be productive under stressful situations
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Able to stand for an extended amount of time at community events
- Lift or move up to 25lbs
- Excellent communication skills
- Team leader qualities creating a shared vision; building volunteer teams to accomplish objectives; being open to new ideas or suggestions; learning from feedback; and being skilled at conflict resolution.

Benefits & Salary
This is a full-time, salaried position with a Monday-Friday schedule, though occasional weekday evenings, holidays, and weekends may be required based on scheduled Lifestyle events and activities. The role offers a competitive annual salary ranging from $55,000 to $65,000, complemented by a benefits package and opportunities for performance-based bonuses.
