What are the responsibilities and job description for the Personal Banker/Teller (Full-time) position at Community Bank of the South?
We are seeking a professional to fill our personal banking position. This position is not a sales incentive position. If you have teller experience, your hourly rate will depend upon that experience. This position is Monday through Friday 40 hours per week, Saturday 9-Noon every ninth Saturday. Two weeks paid vacation and six personal days on an accrual basis per year, 75% of health and life insurance paid by the bank to include health savings account of $45 deposited each pay period, and 401k match up to 6%.
Functions:
- Provide account services to customers by receiving deposits and loan payments, cashing checks, issuing savings withdrawals, recording night and mail deposits, and selling official checks. Answering questions in person or on telephone, and referring other bank services.
- Records transactions by logging official checks, money orders, and other special services, such as preparing Currency Transaction Reports (CTR), Monetary Instrument Reports, and non-customer Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) Reports.
- Establish a relationship with customers, personally committing to exceed customer expectations by meeting a broad range of financial service needs consistently. Responsible for actively soliciting customers and opening new accounts, including all financial products.
- Personal Banker is also responsible for closing accounts at the request of customer.
- Achieving individual goals while working as part of a team in attaining bank goals, and striving to improve the profitability of the bank.
- Cross-sell bank products by answering inquiries, informing customers of new services and product promotions, ascertaining customers’ needs, directing customers to the appropriate branch representative.
- Reconciles cash drawer by providing cash transactions, counting and packaging currency and coins, and other transactions maintaining a supply of cash and currency.
- Demonstrate detailed product knowledge
- Understand industry best practices and how clients use our products
- Recognize referral opportunities and act on them accordingly
- Complies with bank operations and security procedures by participating in all dual-control functions; assisting in the imaging of proof work.
- Maintains customer confidence and protects bank operations by keeping information confidential.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
