Starting Salary : $53,000 / year
Position Summary : The Adoption Specialist-Orange County provides specialized adoption support services to case management agencies for children and families with a goal of adoption. This includes, but not limited to, preparing documentation for, and attending or testifying at court hearings as needed, preparing cases for adoption finalization, participating as needed in permanency and case related staffing’s, assessing for family matches. This position also completes child studies , adoption home studies and assists placing children in adoptive homes, and any performing additional adoption-related duties.
Technical Functions include :
- Completes case related activities in concordance with statutory guidelines to prepare cases for adoption finalization – Essential Function : Conduct child studies, request necessary documents to complete adoption home studies, prepare subsidy packets, and any additional documentation needed to finalize a case for adoption.
- Assesses children and families to find adoption matches – Essential Function : Assist in the assessment of the youth’s behaviors and emotional needs to determine the best possible family match. Collects and interprets all required documents for an Adoption Home study Assessment (i.e., background screening, inspections, references, life stories, etc.)
- Supports adoptive family placement – Essential Function : including Medicaid / SSN card, Blue Book, and medical information in conjunction with the Case Management Agency. Plan and arrange pre-placement visits and placement.
- Recruits adoptive homes– Essential Function : for children without an identified adoptive placement.
- Acts as a liaison with the case manager, school, and other parties relevant to a child placed in an adoptive home.
- Conducts OCS / ICPC Adoptive Home studies– Essential Function : and tracks approval process of adoptive homes.
- Assists in preparing children, foster parents, adoptive families, and others for the adoptive process – Essential Function .
- Coordinates Adoption Review Committees– Essential Function : as appropriate.
- Programmatic Compliance– Essential Function : Ensures compliance with all regulatory, accreditation, and contractual requirements, adheres to all applicable regulatory, accreditation, and professional ethics standard.
- Report Management– Essential Function : Monitors relevant reports in FSFN and other ancillary reporting systems to identify trends, forecasting, and potential areas of opportunities.
- Other Duties as Required- Job performance require fulfilling other incidental or related duties as assigned, assisting, and training others, and performing duties of higher rated positions from time to time for developmental purposes.
