Reporting directly to the CFO, the Controller is responsible for providing leadership and strategic guidance for all accounting, accounts payable, payroll, cash management, audit, and budgeting processes. The Controller serves as a liaison to other functional areas within CBH to understand and communicate relevant financial decisions and will oversee the organization’s close process, financial reporting preparations, and all local, state, and federal tax filings.
**The minimum annual salary for this role will start in the low six-figures ($110k and up) based on experience.
Essential Functions:
- Build and maintain a strong Accounting team through effective recruiting, training, performance management, coaching, team building and succession planning.
- Provide oversight and guidance to Accounting Operations, Accounts Payable, Purchasing and Payroll teams.
- Direct Accounting team to prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports as required by the State.
- Support audit staff with analysis, reports and supporting documentation necessary for annual audit.
- Engage with executive leadership to prepare the organization’s annual budget.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and control administrative costs.
Position Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting, Master’s Preferred
- License/Certification: CPA Preferred
- Relevant Work Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in accounting with 5 years’ experience managing and developing employees. Prior health insurance or public health experience preferred.
Skills:
- Extensive knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, specifically Microsoft Excel
- Extensive experience in Accounting software (e.g. Great Plains, MS Dynamics 365 Business Central)
- Experience with ADP preferred
- Excellent analytical skills
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently
Philadelphia Residency Requirement:
- The successful candidate must be a current Philadelphia resident or become a resident within six months of hire.
